Earlier yesterday 5th September 2025, Hon. Ibrahim Issahak, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Mponua, held a crucial engagement with caterers under the Ghana School Feeding Program (GSFP) at the District Assembly block.
The meeting was aimed at strengthening the operations of the GSFP in the district and ensuring that the ultimate beneficiaries — the schoolchildren — receive nutritious, hygienic, and quality meals every school day.
In his address, Hon. Issahak urged all caterers to take their responsibilities seriously and serve the pupils with only the best and most nutritious meals. He issued a stern warning that any caterer found serving substandard food risks having their contract terminated.
“These children are our future leaders. They deserve nothing but the best. Anyone who cooks bad food will not be tolerated under my watch,” he emphasized.
He encouraged any caterer facing challenges in the procurement of foodstuffs to promptly reach out to the District GSFP Coordinator, Ms. Rita Akomea, for assistance. He also appealed for peace and professionalism, advising the caterers to avoid conflicts and instead channel all grievances through appropriate authorities.
Ms. Rita Akomea the zonal coordinator who also doubles as the constituency women Organizer for the ruling party also took the opportunity to advise her fellow caterers to be responsible and respectful in the discharge of their duties. She reminded them that the image of President John Dramani Mahama’s government is reflected in the quality of their work. “Let’s remember, these children are the future of our country. Any act that tarnishes the reputation of this government will not be tolerated,” she noted.
She further urged the women to respect headteachers, school staff, and community members, and work in harmony with all stakeholders for the smooth running of the program.
The caterers, in response, expressed gratitude to the DCE for his leadership and pledged to give their very best in honoring both the government and the children they serve.
This meeting marks another step in the DCE’s commitment to improving educational outcomes and child welfare across the Atwima Mponua District.
