It was more than just a ceremony on Monday, 16th February 2026. It was a promise fulfilled. A promise of hope. A promise of dignity. A promise of development for the people of Atwima Mponua. The morning air in Wansabire was filled with anticipation as the District Chief Executive for the Atwima Mponua District, Hon. Ibrahim Issahak, alongside the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Samuel Kwan Gyan, staff of the Assembly and party faithful, gathered to set into motion a transformational project that will change lives for generations.   With a symbolic cut of the sod, construction officially began on a new CHPS compound funded through the 2025 District Assembly Common Fund. But this was not just about bricks and mortar. It was about bringing healthcare closer to the people — to mothers, fathers, children, and the elderly in nearly 30 surrounding communities. In an emotional address, Hon. Issahak declared, “No mother should have to travel miles for basic health care. No child should be denied urgent attention because of distance.” His words echoed through the crowd, resonating deeply with families who have long struggled with accessibility to medical services. For many residents, the project represents relief — relief from dangerous late-night journeys in search of care, relief from preventable complications, relief from the fear that distance could cost a life. From Wansabire, the team moved to Agogoso, where another life-changing initiative awaited. Amid cheers and visible excitement, sod was cut for the construction of a six-unit classroom block at the Agogoso D/A Basic School — one of the most populated schools in the district. For years, overcrowded classrooms have challenged both teachers and pupils. Children squeezed into limited space, striving to learn despite the odds. This new facility promises more than just classrooms; it promises comfort, focus, and the dignity every child deserves while pursuing education. The chiefs and people of both communities could not hide their joy. Their smiles, applause, and heartfelt gratitude spoke volumes. It was a powerful reminder that leadership is ultimately about service — about touching lives in meaningful, lasting ways.
